Panel discussion as part of Wissensstadt Berlin 2021

How can social coexistence succeed in the city?

Prof. Jule Specht and Prof. Swen Hutter were guests in a panel discussion on social cohesion at the beginning of August 2021. The exchange took place in front of the Rotes Rathaus as part of the open-air program of the „Wissensstadt Berlin 2021″.

Both Principal Investigators presented the inter- and transdisciplinary joint research project Social Cohesion and Civil Society. What shapes and threatens the social cohesion of a society? Which social links make people feel part of a community and how can these be influenced? How can social coexistence be successful in the city? The focus of the exciting conversation was the potential of civil society and solidarity in dealing with crises.

In addition to the comprehensive empirical research program, the aim of the joint project Social Cohesion and Civil Society is to transfer knowledge both to the public and to civil society practice.
