Project Description

Joy Sarow

Student Assistant

Short Vita

Since 2019, I am an undergraduate student at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. After taking part in a team researching on Alcohol Use Disorders, I became a Student Research Assistant working in the research unit Encounters of Cohesion.

What I find exciting about this research initiative

Social Cohesion is what most people are longing for. But how can one create Social Cohesion, how is it disrupted? I am especially interested in the specific role of emotional expressions and how expressed emotions influence dyadic relationships between people, how they create a feeling of closeness or a feeling of distance.

What my discipline can contribute to this research initiative

To understand humans as social beings is a core element of social psychology. This discipline can help us understand social interactions between individuals in the framework of a broader Social Society and contributes a variety of theories and methods to describe and explain the ongoing processes.
