Im M\u00e4rz 2022 war Dr. Lena Frischlich mit einem Vortrag zu Dunkler Partizipation <\/em>zu Gast im Forschungsprojekt Social Cohesion and Civil Society<\/em><\/a>. Im ihrem Vortrag stellte die Sozialpsychologin den Begriff sowie dessen Hintergrund vor. Welche Ph\u00e4nomene lassen sich mit dem Begriff beschreiben? Und welche Konsequenzen kann dunkle Partizipation haben?<\/p>\n<\/div>

Ph\u00e4nomene der dunklen Partizipation<\/h2><\/div>

Soziale Medien und Online-Communities, wie z.B. Facebook oder 4Chan, bieten Raum f\u00fcr Hasskommentare oder die Verbreitung von Falschnachrichten und Verschw\u00f6rungserz\u00e4hlungen. Der Begriff dunkle Partizipation <\/em>beschreibt Ph\u00e4nomene der manipulativen Online-Kommunikation. Darunter fallen Hatespeech, also kommunikative Angriffe auf Personen bzw. Gruppen, sowie Desinformation, die absichtliche Verbreitung von Falschinformationen. Zu dunkler Partizipation kann auch die Verbreitung von Verschw\u00f6rungserz\u00e4hlungen gez\u00e4hlt werden. Diese folgen h\u00e4ufig einem dualistischen Weltbild, innerhalb dessen streng zwischen Gut <\/em>und B\u00f6se <\/em>unterschieden wird und unterstellen Verschw\u00f6rer:innen unrealistische Macht. Entgegen wissenschaftlicher Praxis bzw. G\u00fctekriterien k\u00f6nnen Verschw\u00f6rungstheorien zudem nicht angemessen bzw. nachvollziehbar begr\u00fcndet werden.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Folgen von dunkler Partizipation<\/h2><\/div>

Dunkle Partizipation kann auf individueller Ebene Folgen f\u00fcr das Wohlbefinden haben oder zur Radikalisierung beitragen. Auf gesellschaftlicher Ebene k\u00f6nnen die damit verbundenen Ph\u00e4nomene Polarisierung zwischen verschiedenen Gruppen beg\u00fcnstigen oder negative Konsequenzen f\u00fcr den demokratischen Prozess haben, z.B. in Bezug auf die gleichberechtigte Teilhabe oder die gesellschaftliche Willensbildung.<\/p>\n

Dr. Lena Frischlich leitet die Nachwuchsforschungsgruppe \u201eDemoRESILdigital: Demokratische Resilienz in Zeiten von Online-Propaganda, Fake news, Fear- und Hate Speech\u201c<\/a> an der Universit\u00e4t M\u00fcnster. Die interdisziplin\u00e4re Forschungsgruppe aus Psycholog:innen, Kommunikationswissenschaftler:innen und Wirtschaftsinformatiker:innen versucht mit ihrer Arbeit ein vertieftes Verst\u00e4ndnis von manipulativer Online-Kommunikation zu erlangen und untersucht daf\u00fcr Akteur:innen, Zielgruppen und Wirkungsweisen.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Bedeutung f\u00fcr den gesellschaftlichen Zusammenhalt?<\/h2><\/div>

Im Anschluss an den Vortrag wurde der Begriff und seine Anschlussf\u00e4higkeit an das ambivalente Verh\u00e4ltnis von Zivilgesellschaft und sozialem Zusammenhalt diskutiert. Weiterhin wurde sich \u00fcber Erhebungsmethoden und den empirischen Zugang zu dem Ph\u00e4nomen ausgetauscht.<\/p>\n

Das Verbundprojekt Social Cohesion and Civil Society <\/em>nimmt die Beziehung zwischen Zivilgesellschaft und sozialem Zusammenhalt in den Blick<\/a>. Zusammenhalt wird dabei weniger als normatives Ideal, sondern als Eigenschaft sozialer Beziehungen bzw. Interaktionen verstanden. Dazu z\u00e4hlen pers\u00f6nliche Begegnungen, Kommunikation in und zwischen zivilgesellschaftlichen Gruppen bzw. Organisationen sowie politische Aushandlungsprozesse. Im Fokus stehen Personen, die sich rund um die Themen Klima und Nachhaltigkeit, Migration und Integration sowie Mieten und Wohnen engagieren<\/a>. Drei Themen, die polarisieren und Potenzial f\u00fcr dunkle Partizipation<\/em>, also Hate Speech oder die Verbreitung von Falschinformationen oder Verschw\u00f6rungstheorien, bieten.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Dr. Lena Frischlich<\/span><\/span><\/div><\/div>
Dr. Lena Frischlich ist Diplom-Psychologin und leitet seit 2018 die Nachwuchsforschungsgruppe \u201eDemoRESILdigital: Demokratische Resilienz in Zeiten von Online-Propaganda, Fake news, Fear- and Hate Speech\u201c an der Westf\u00e4lischen Wilhelms-Universit\u00e4t M\u00fcnster. Nach ihrem Studium und ihrer Promotion an der Universit\u00e4t zu K\u00f6ln 2016 arbeitete sie als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Institut f\u00fcr Kommunikationswissenschaft der Universit\u00e4t M\u00fcnster. Von 2020 bis 2021 vertrat sie die Professur f\u00fcr Medienwandel am Institut f\u00fcr Kommunikationswissenschaft und Medienforschung an der Ludwigs-Maximilian-Universit\u00e4t M\u00fcnchen. Sie ist Mitglied im Jungen Kolleg der Akademie der Wissenschaften und K\u00fcnste Nordrhein-Westfalen.
